Company description:
Bright Horizons is a leading childcare provider with nurseries in Ireland, the UK and the USA. In Ireland we have 9 nurseries in Dublin and County Meath. Our company mission is:
To provide innovative programmes that help children, families and employers work together to be their very best. We are committed to providing the highest quality childcare, early education and work/life solutions in the world. We strive to:
Nurture each child’s unique qualities and potential
Support families through strong partnerships
Collaborate with employers to build family-friendly workplaces
Create a work environment that encourages professionalism, growth and diversity
Grow a financially strong organisation
We aspire to do this so successfully that we make a difference in the lives of children and families and in the communities where we live and work.
High quality care and education
All of our nurseries work with Síolta, the national framework for quality and also Aistear, the national curriculum framework for early years. We view these frameworks not just as end goals but as starting points for providing the highest quality care and education for the early years. Additionally all of our nurseries are notified to and inspected by the HSE and are members of the National Children’s Nurseries Association. We are committed to the standards of the All Ireland Centre of Excellence accreditation and pride ourselves on having the highest number of accredited nurseries of any provider in Ireland.
A company with HEART – Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork
We care passionately about what we do and our HEART Principles are a guide to help us support one another in the important work that we do each day. To make the nursery experience as rewarding as possible for both staff and families, and to create an environment in which children can flourish, we recruit carefully and promote a work culture which encourages professionalism, growth and diversity.
Making a difference
As part of our mission to make a difference in the lives of children and we set up a registered charity, The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, whose goal is to improve the quality of life for at-risk children and families in the communities where Bright Horizons employees live and work. One of the ways we do this is to work with local agencies to create Bright Spaces – safe play and learning areas for children of all ages living in temporary accommodation, creating warm, inviting areas either indoors or outside, where children can simply be children. Our staff teams fundraise for the Foundation and also get involved in hands-on ways to support their local Bright Spaces. The Foundation also provides grants for causes actively supported by Bright Horizons staff members.
A great place to work
We have been included for the last 4 years as one of the Best Workplaces in Ireland by the Great Place to Work® Institute Ireland. This award reflects the company’s dedication to being an employer of choice in the childcare sector. We value this recognition because it measures values important to our company, such as credibility, respect, fairness and corporate responsibility. We also recognise that being a great place to work supports us in attracting the best staff teams who are paramount in helping us fulfil our mission
